Walton Family Foundation SWFL Habitat Enhancement Project

Funding provided by the Walton Family Foundation was instrumental in determining the effectiveness of restoration actions for enhancing SWFL habitat. This project focuses on wildlife species that deped on helathy fuctioning riparian systems. The decision support system arising from this project will allow riparian and wildlife managers to better select and restore riparian patches and systems that have the highest potential for developing or maintaining breeding habitat for SWFLs, and thus many other riparian obligate species.

Through this enhancement project, the Walton Family Foundation further supported documenting responses of other key ecosystem functions such as soil and water status, habitat for other wildlife species and reduced wildfire risk that are critical to improving riparian health in Colorado Basin riparian ecosystems.
